The 1xxx series aluminum coil, also known as pure aluminum coil, features the highest aluminum content among all aluminum products, with aluminum purity exceeding 99.00%. Based on aluminum purity and trace element composition, mainstream grades include 1050, 1060, 1100, 1200, 1070 and 1080. These grades differ slightly in purity and trace element content to suit diverse application scenarios.
In terms of processing technology, it is divided into hot-rolled and cold-rolled types. Hot-rolled aluminum coils come in a wide thickness range and are ideal for deep stamping and heavy deformation processing. Cold-rolled coils deliver higher thickness precision and superior surface smoothness, which are preferred for applications with strict requirements on appearance and dimensions.
By surface treatment, products are available as standard mill finish, brushed, film-coated and anodized aluminum coils, catering to aesthetic and functional demands across various industries.

Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Pure aluminum features high chemical activity. A dense and stable passive oxide film quickly forms on its surface when exposed to the natural environment, isolating the base metal from air and moisture. Therefore, 1xxx series coils possess better atmospheric corrosion resistance than most aluminum alloys. They remain stable in mild weak acid and weak alkali environments, making them well-suited for anti-corrosion applications.
Superior Ductility & Machinability
Free from hard alloy phases, this series has relatively low strength but outstanding ductility, with an elongation rate of 30% to 40%. It can be easily processed via bending, stretching, stamping, spinning and other cold working procedures without cracking. It also offers excellent weldability and is compatible with various welding techniques.
Outstanding Electrical & Thermal Conductivity
Boasting high purity and low impurity content, 1xxx series coils achieve an electrical conductivity of over 60% IACS and a thermal conductivity of approximately 230 W/m·K. Its conductive and thermal performance ranks second only to copper among common metals. Meanwhile, its density is just one-third of copper. It is a cost-effective and lightweight alternative for conductive and heat-conducting components.
Cost & Performance Advantages
With mature and simple production processes, 1xxx series aluminum coils are priced lower than other alloy series and deliver high cost performance for mass production. The smooth surface allows easy post-processing such as anodizing, spraying and printing, presenting good decorative effects.
Its main limitation is low mechanical strength. The room-temperature tensile strength generally ranges from 80 MPa to 150 MPa, so it is not applicable for high-load structural parts and is mostly used as a functional material.
Custom specifications are available to meet client requirements. The common parameter ranges are as follows:
Thickness: 0.1 mm ~ 10 mm. Cold-rolled coils: 0.1 mm ~ 4 mm; Hot-rolled coils: 2 mm ~ 10 mm
Width: 10 mm ~ 2600 mm. Regular widths: 1000 mm, 1220 mm, 1500 mm. Slitting for narrow strips is supported.
Inner coil diameter: φ150 mm, φ300 mm, φ405 mm, φ505 mm. Customizable to match winding equipment.
Coil weight: 50 kg ~ 3000 kg per coil. Adjustable for transportation and processing needs.
Temper: O (soft), H12, H14, H16, H18, H24. O temper has the best ductility. H-series represents work-hardened status, with hardness and strength increasing along with the grade number.
Thanks to its comprehensive properties, 1xxx series aluminum coils are widely used in multiple industries:
Electrical & Electronic Industry: Manufacture of capacitor shells, transformer windings, aluminum foils for cables, heat sinks and busbars. It replaces copper to cut costs while ensuring good conductivity and thermal performance.
Packaging Industry: Production of aluminum foils for food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, cigarette packaging and bottle cap sheets. High-purity aluminum is non-toxic, compliant with food contact standards and easy for composite processing.
Architectural & Decoration Industry: Applied to aluminum composite panels, cladding for thermal insulation pipes, curtain wall liners, sign letters, decorative mouldings and roof waterproofing. It features great corrosion resistance, easy formability and attractive appearance.
Kitchenware & Home Appliance Industry: Used for aluminum pots, kettles, refrigerator liners, air conditioner heat sinks and range hood shells. It provides uniform heat conduction, is non-toxic and easy to clean, and fits large-scale stamping production.
Chemical Anti-corrosion Industry: Lining for reaction tanks, anti-corrosion layers for pipelines and tank heads. Pure aluminum resists corrosion from most acids for general chemical environments.
Transportation Industry: Interior decorative panels, sound insulation layers and radiators for automobiles and high-speed trains. It achieves remarkable weight reduction and meets requirements for non-structural components.
Our 1xxx series aluminum coils comply with national and industrial standards, including GB/T 3190-2020 Chemical Composition of Wrought Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys and GB/T 3880-2012 Aluminum and Aluminum Alloy Sheets, Plates and Strips for General Industrial Use. Custom standards specified by clients are also accepted.
Standard factory inspection items cover chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensional tolerance, surface quality and internal stress. Products are strictly checked to ensure no edge cracks, corrosion spots, roller marks or scratches, and all dimensions are within allowable deviation to satisfy downstream processing demands.
1. Store the coils indoors in a dry and well-ventilated area. Avoid outdoor storage and places with high humidity or corrosive gas to prevent surface oxidation.
2. Handle with care during lifting and transportation. Avoid pulling, collision and scratching, which may damage the surface and deform the coil core and affect subsequent processing.
3. Conduct regular checks for long-term storage. Slight oxidation can be removed by polishing. Products with oxidation depth exceeding the dimensional tolerance shall be discarded.
4. O-temper soft aluminum coils have excellent ductility. Stress relief treatment is recommended before deep stamping to prevent deformation and springback after processing.
